The Workshop of Papyrology and Epigraphy was officially established in 1998 (Ð.Ä. 193/1998, Ö.Å.Ê. 143/1-7-98 ô. A') and it is one of the four Workshops of the Department of Philology of the University of Crete. According to its statutes and by-laws the Workshop's primary goal is teaching and research in the fields of Papyrology and Epigraphy.
The Workshop welcomes mutual collaboration with colleagues, Institutes and Universities in Greece and abroad that share common interests.
Since September 2001, ER.P.E. is housed temporarily in a relatively specious room, close to the teaching rooms of the University of Crete.
