Bernard Flusin, Professor Emeritus at the Sorbonne University andthe École Pratique des Hautes Études [Section des Sciences religieuses (Christianisme byzantin)], studied at the École Normale Supérieure (Rue d’Ulm (1968)), the Collège de France and at the University of the Sorbonne, Paris. He was scholar of the Fondation Thiers (1975-1978) and of the Institut de Recherche et d’Histoire des Textes (I.R.H.T.)of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (C.N.R.S.),before his professorship at the Sorbonne University, since 1989 and at the École Pratique des Hautes Études, since 1990. His PhD dissertation on the Saint Lives of Cyril of Scythopolis was published in 1979 (Miracle et histoire dans l’oeuvre de Cyrille de Scythopolis, Études Augustiennes, Paris 1979), and he obtained his habitation in 1988 with the publication of Saint Anastasios the Persian and the History of Palestine in the beginning of the 7th C. (Saint Anastase le Perse et l’histoire de la Palestine au début du VIIe siècle, Éditions du C.N.R.S., Paris, 1988). In 2020 he published his magnum opus, the edition of the De Cerimoniis Aulae Byzantinae of Constantine Porphyrogennitus. He is peer reviewer in scientific reviews (Revue des études byzantines, Revue d’histoire des textes, Revue des études arméniennes and Βyzantinische Zeitschrift), and in editorial committees such as the Corpus Christianorum. Series Graeca (Leuven), the Monographies du Centre d’histoire et civilisation de Byzance (Collège de France) and theTravaux et Mémoires.
